walkabout
Inspired by the ancient rite of passage practiced by the aboriginals in Australia, this concept service aims at connecting people to the place where they are or live, via stories and experiences.
As much as the songlines that allow the aboriginals to navigate the landscape via mythical stories and legends, modern day flaneurs would be able to explore cities through the experiential landscape of media left behind by themselves or others.
In a time where digital mapping was all about getting from A to B, Walkabout looks at everything in between these two points, where life happens.
This project was my master's thesis in the renowed Umeå Institute of Design in Umeå, Sweden. Completed in 2009.
